Chintsa is a laid-back sea-side village 40km from East London in Xhosa country at the start of the Wild Coast. Chintsa East, where The Gables Country House is situated, is famous for its, river, lagoons, rock pools, long sandy beaches, great for leisurely walks, swimming, sea fishing and surfing, (the surf is great for beginners). There are high sand dunes, backed by coastal indigenous forests alive with birdsong as well as other wildlife . The quaint town offers a wide variety of places to eat from 5 star cuisine to chilled, laid back cafe's, venues offering live music as well as other entertainment, as well as beer tasting at the Brewery.
